Dorothy Anderson

Dorothy "Dolly" Greta Anderson, age 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Dolly was born on March 12, 1928 in Evanston, Illinois, to John and Margaret Gustafson who guided her to know and love Jesus at a very young age. She graduated from Wheaton College with a degree in teaching. It was there that she met Douglas Anderson who became her husband in 1951. They were married for 62 years. Dolly loved gardening, a passion that continued throughout her life. She was a wonderful hostess inviting people for meals, providing overnight housing and helping many feel welcome and comfortable in various settings. She looked forward to any opportunity to spend time with her family and prayed for them all daily. Dolly is survived by: her children; Donna and Wally Coots, Diane and Steve Kunkler, Dan and Alma Anderson; her grandchildren Brad (Lindsay) Dangl, Ryan (Autumn) Dangl, Chad (Heather) Coots, Ethan (Christa) Coots, Danielle (Robert) Brooks, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Marge Johnson. A service of worship to God and celebration of Dolly's life will be held at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 1933 Tremont NW, on March 14 at 2:00pm with visitation from 1-2. Memorial contributions may be made to First Covenant Church or Thornapple Covenant Church in support of Foreign Missions.
