Donna O'Connor

Donna Geanetta O'Connor (Topper), aged 98, passed away at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born in Crystal, Michigan, on September 22, 1923, the daughter of Burt and Ida (Benoit) Topper. Donna worked on the B-25's during World War II. After retirement she volunteered at United Memorial Hospital as a Grey Lady. She also volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Bank, friends of the library, and the Flat River extension group. In her spare time, she helped with the Ladies Auxiliary with the VFW. Donna also belonged to the "23" Club, a national group of women that were born in 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas O'Connor; son, Dennis O'Connor; granddaughter, Marcia Martin; four siblings, Frank Reeder, Vivian Riensmith, Leona Burns and Velma Longstreet. Surviving are her children, Lee (Carol) Martin of Belding, and Judy O'Connor of Greenville; four grandchildren, James, Tommy, Mac and Donna; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Donna will be held at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin St., Greenville, MI 48838, on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Steve Bills officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. Private interment will take place at Rest Haven Memory Gardens.
