Donna Lutz

Donna Ruth (Nelson) Lutz, age 77, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was born February 8, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois to the late, Donald and Ruth (Hanko) Nelson. Donna graduated from Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL with the class of 1964. She went on to study at South Chicago Hospital where she graduated in 1967 as a registered nurse from their three-year nursing program. Donna worked at various healthcare facilities throughout her career within Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Her favorite and final place of employment before retiring was with the Michigan Endoscopy Center. Donna married the love of her life, Harvey Edward Lutz in Lansing, Illinois on December 12, 1980. She loved to cook and would volunteer at the Salvation Army where she would help cook meals for those in need. In Donna’s spare time she enjoyed knitting and cross stitching. She was a loving wife and mother and was overjoyed when she became a grandmother to her grandson, Lofton whom she cherished. Survivors include her husband of nearly 44 years, Harvey Lutz; their son, Chris Lutz; and grandson, Lofton Lutz. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David and Daniel Nelson.
