Donald Marsh

Donald M. Marsh, age 77, of Grand Rapids, passed a way on Friday, July 29, 2016 surrounded by family. The son of Alfis & Anna (Baumgart) Marsh, he was born March 03, 1939 in Grand Rapids. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Donald then went on to retire from the Grand Rapids Fire Department after 28 years as a fire fighter. Donald was an avid sports fan and loved his, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and Michigan State University, but received the most joy when watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf with his late wife after retirement. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Brandon. Surviving are his children, Marianne (Mike) Waite, Kim (Paul) Young, Michael (Josie) Marsh, Sheila Rzycki, and Connie (Eric) Potter; and grandchildren, David, Jason, Dustin, Travis, Sarah, Krysten, Sam, Abe, Ally, Charlie, Joseph and Andrew. A celebration of life will take place Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Century Post Pub, 203 E. Main St. Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations my be made to Spectrum Health Hospice. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
