Donald Lamer

Donald Earl Lamer, lovingly known as Don, of Zeeland, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Born in Zeeland, MI, on July 29, 1945, he was a devoted Christian, who lived his life guided by the teachings of his faith. As we remember Don, we are reminded of 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, family was what mattered most to Donald. He was married to his beloved wife, Mary, for nearly six decades, having pledged their love on October 7, 1965. Donald was a talented manager at a printing company and spent his last few years as building maintenance at a local retirement home. His creativity extended to his hobbies as well. Donald loved golfing, motorcycling, woodworking, and camping, he had a passion for finding recipes and cooking up an amazing meal for his family. He also had a special affection for his dog, Daisy. Donald is survived by his wife, Mary Lamer; his daughters, Heather (Duane) Overkamp and Camilla (Kasey) Lamer; grandchildren, Connor Prins, Mackenzie (Josh) Ware, Sade (Josh) Pabon, Jarek Bruner, Skyler Paige, Lauren (Logan) Overkamp, Brianna (Jordan) Tall, and Heather (Regan) Taylor; great-grandchildren, Joslyn Ware, Julianna Pabon, and Sayre and Preslee Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Sena Lamer and siblings, Jack Lamer, Gary Lamer, and Glenda Huisingh. There will be no formal funeral, a private memorial for family will be announced at a later date. We invite you to share your memories and photos of Don's on his memorial page.
