Donald Christensen

Donald Winston Christensen, age 81, of Langston, formerly of Lakeview, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at his home. The son of Lars Peter & Alice Lorraine (Hall) Christensen, he was born on February 15, 1941 in Lakeview. After graduating from Lakeview High School in 1959, he proudly served in the United States Army and following his honorable discharge from the Army, continued to serve with the National Guard for many years. Don retired from the former Electrolux Home Products after 30 plus years of service, where he worked as a journeyman millwright as well as a supervisor. He was a member of the Stanton American Legion Post No. 452, the Moose Lodge in Greenville, and enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and going for drives. A good neighbor, Don enjoyed supporting his friends in the Amish community, and likewise, appreciated their help and friendship. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert "Bob" Christensen; his long-time companion, Carol Lee Susan Beech; her son, Paul Greenway; and her grandson, Nathan Jones. Surviving are his twin sons, Chad Christensen of Auburn Hills, and Brad Christensen of Pontiac; Carol's children, Nancy Jo Jones of Owosso, Judy & Terry Satterlee of Greenville, Rebecca & Jeff Shotwell of Sheridan, Susan Beech of Stanton, and Gregory & Terri Greenway of Belmont; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon & Dale Hitchcock of DeWitt; a sister-in-law, Carol Christensen of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Committal services, with military honors, are at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Riverside Cemetery in Langston. Immediately following the graveside ceremonies, relatives and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Don's life at the Stanton American Legion, 337 W. Day Street, Stanton. Instead of flowers, contributions in memory of Don to Montcalm County 4-H or Toys for Tots would be appreciated.
