Donald Berry

Donald Paul Berry, age 79, of Trufant, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at his home. The son of Donald George & Lorraine Margaret (VanWormer) Berry, he was born on October 9, 1942 in Grand Rapids. On July 17, 1965, in Grand Rapids, he married Margaret Romaine Grzeszak and together they raised two children and enjoyed nearly 57 years of marriage. Don enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a proud Vietnam era veteran. He retired after a 40 year career in the wholesale grocery business as a food broker and then he and Marge made their "forever home" at Muskellunge Lake in Trufant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid Michigan State University "Spartan" fan, and delighted in trips around the state of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two faithful canine companions, Snowflake and Pebbles. Surviving are his wife, Margaret R. "Marge" Berry of Trufant; their daughter, Cindy Berry of Grand Rapids; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Sherie Berry of Wayland; four grandchildren, Josh & Sam Berry, Jake Berry, Emily Berry, and Katie Berry; a brother, Mike & Diane Berry of St. Johns; a sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Brown; a brother-in-law, Thomas Grzeszak; a niece, Heather & Patrick Dick; two nephews, Scott & Mindy Berry and Jeff Brown; and many dear friends. Honoring his wishes, no public services are planned and interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan.
