Mrs. Dolores E. Shorty Petersen, age 81, of rural Greenville, passed away Sunday afternoon, Jan. 28, 2007 in Greenville. The daughter of Henry and Reva A. (Bissell) Ingraham, she was born on March 2, 1925 in Lakeview. A graduate of Greenville High School, she married LaVern Petersen on Nov. 27, 1946.
A devoted wife and mother, she and LaVern owned and operated Petersen Farms, now in its fourth generation of family ownership, where she took great joy in selling produce (especially peas and potatoes) from the farms roadside stand. She also delighted in taking people for golf cart rides to the farms back acreage to see the elk and in prior years, gathering with her Turk Lake friends for fellowship on Wednesday nights.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaVern Petersen; a son, Rick Petersen; and a daughter-in-law, Jody Petersen.
Surviving are a son, Randy Petersen; three grandchildren, Michelle & Mike Adams of Turk Lake, Adam Petersen, and Marne & Kurt Christy, all of Greenville; two great grandchildren, Josh Adams and Jessica Adams; several nieces and nephews; and special friend and caregiver, Terry Witzel of Stanton.
