Dolores Eggleston

Dolores J. Eggleston (Jo) of Springfield, MI died Monday, September 16, 2019 at home following an extended illness. Jo was born June 16, 1937 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Oliver W. Strole & Virginia M. Strole. She married Robert W. Eggleston in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She worked as a waitress and bartender at BoJangles for several years proceeding her retirement. Her hobbies included bingo, cards, bowling and she was a avid dart and pool player. Jo was described as a "spitfire"& did things her way (Like it or not)! She was a giving and loving person, and her door was always open for family and friends. Jo is survived by her daughter Doreen Carlson (Rick Sandler); sons Kevin Eggleston, William Eggleston (Gail); Johnny Eggleston; Sisters, Judy Whitman, And Marsha Sawyer; Grandchildren Nichelle Eggleston, Heather Getman, Laurie Eggleston, Dwayne Eggleston, DeAndre Miller, Nekia Miller, Cory Eggleston and Dawn Eggleston. Nieces and nephews include Lisa Trogdon, Teresa Sawyer, Tina Jacoby, Tammy Whitman-Bammer, Ron Whitman, Susan Ludlow-Saylor, Peggy Ludlow-Gossner, Cari Ramsdell Bevins. Special friends Ranae Everett and Louie Chilton. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Eva Louise and Joyce Ramsdell, daughter Joleen, and sons Robert and Michael. The family would also like to thank the Hospice Team of Southwest Michigan for their assistance, knowledge and loving care during Jo's last six months.
