Dolores Ann “Dot” Palmer, age 83, of Gowen, Michigan, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026 at Corewell Health-Greenville Hospital in Greenville, Michigan. The daughter of Charles Wesley & Evelyne Jewel (Hugmeyer) Payne, she was born on March 7, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was a devoted mother and homemaker.

Dot loved all animals and over the years raised a variety of animals including miniature horses, foxes, peacocks, goats, and racoons at her home near Bass Lake and also enjoyed her trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, John Townsend and Harry E. Palmer. Jr.; a son-in-law, Don Winterkorn; and seven brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her children, Cherie Winterkorn, Randy Chipman & Nina Wallace, Tammy Chipman, Scott Chipman, and Dawn Martinez; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur “Al” & Carol Payne; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
