Dollie Mae Sisson, age 81, of Greenville, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 11, 2009 at Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Hospital, Greenville. The daughter of George & Lona (Baird) Hall, she was born on Sept. 27, 1927 in Greenville. Dollie had worked for Meijer at the earlier stores. . the original barbershop store and the Quanset Hut store. On Oct. 12, 1946, in Greenville, she married Clyde G. Sisson and together they raised two children. A devoted wife and mother, Dollie delighted in baking for her family and also enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Clyde Sisson; two children, Robert Sisson, and Peg Spears, all of Greenville; six grandchildren, Carol & Dan Wingeier of North Carolina, Robin & Mike Hewitt of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael & Heidi Spears of Greenville, Shannon & Geoff Hewitt of Jefferson City, Missouri, Charlene Sisson, and Robert II & Kellie Sisson, all of Greenville; nine great grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, and Alex Wingeier , Robert, Megan, and Brandon Hewitt, Matthew and Joshua Hewitt, and Adrianne Sisson; a sister, Maxine Sisson of Fenwick; a sister-in-law, Doris Hall of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Honoring Dollies wishes, no funeral services will be held and burial will take place privately at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
