Dianna Jean Cooper, age 70, of Belding, passed away Monday evening, April 11, 2011 at Spectrum Health Continuing Care in Grand Rapids. The daughter of Wesley & Maxine (Passmore) Sanders, she was born on Sept. 6, 1940 in Grand Rapids, where she graduated from Catholic Central High School. On Aug. 28, 1976, in Belding, she married Orville Jacob Cooper and together they enjoyed nearly 35 years of marriage. Dianna had worked as a waitress from many years at a number of restaurants, including The Winter Inn. She was a volunteer with Senior Companions and the Special Olympics, was a member of the Belding Free Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching birds. However, her greatest joy was in time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Darlene Colley and Sandy Brown. Surviving are husband, Orville J. Cooper of Belding; a daughter, Laura (Timothy) Jordan of Grand Rapids; two sons, Todd (Christina) Tiff of Wayland, and Michael Tiff; a step-daughter, Virgie (Paul) Jones of Belding; a brother, Dale (Nancy) Sanders of Grand Rapids; siblings-in-law, Geraldine Judeika of Grand Rapids, Margaret Antcliff of Belding, Ruth (Rubin) Capstein of Hudsonville, George Cooper of Saranac, and Ervin (Eula) Cooper of Brown City; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family is Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated.
