Diane Sebright

Diane Elizabeth Sebright August 30, 1947 - August 28, 2022 Our beloved Diane slipped quietly away from her earthly home toward a promise of peace and serenity on August 28, 2022, at her home in Wyoming, MI. She was born at home on August 30, 1947, to Marian (Gates) and Logan Wright in Wayland, MI. She went on to graduate from the same high school as her Mother, Wayland Union High School in 1970. Diane then pursued a career in Nursing. She graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1970. That was followed by a degree of Associate of Applied in Nursing in 1977. Both courses of education from Grand Rapids Junior College. In 1987 she completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree from University of Michigan. She had a long extensive history in Nursing, working all over the city of Grand Rapids in many different capacities almost up until the time of her death. She loved the field of nursing. Now for her story, she had many loves. The first probably the lover of animals. From raising Alpacas to obtaining two Maine Coon Cats from Ukraine to her constant companions, Tucker and Phoebe the Chihuahuas. Our mother said if an elephant needed a home Diane would take it in. Next she was a "Shopoholic" in every sense of the word. It led to the love of cooking. Nothing pleased her more than having big Sunday dinners at her house. She followed the sales and always had freezers and cupboards full of food. She could prepare a meal at the drop of a hat.. It seemed that her favorite reading materials were the QVC and Lands End catalogs. Over the years the family moved many times and she always looked at the possibilities of the new property and then made it her own. She was very creative in her decorating and often changed furniture if she found something she liked better. She was married to Barry Sebright in 1979 and to that union was born a son, Marc. He was a very cherished little boy and so very much like his Dad. He has remained a very important part of his mother's life. There are many beautiful pictures of him throughout the house. Sadly Barry passed away in 2005. Diane was preceded in death by brother, Michael; sisters, Joyce Herb and Ruth Hazen; and her parents. She is survived by son, Marc (Stephanie) Sebright; brother, Bill (Sharon) Wright; sisters, Linda (Max) Barnes and Carolyn Abrams; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006.
