Diana Mason

Diana G. Mason, age 71, of Greenville, passed away Sunday evening, November 24, 2013 at home under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The daughter of Wesley Frederick & Gladys (Stanton) Blum, she was born on January 24, 1942 in Millbrook. On September 6, 1955, in Stanton, she married George Richard Mason. For many years Diana worked as the head cook at the Hi-Delight Restaurant, was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching Westerns and listening to country music. Her greatest joy was in time spent with her family especially traveling and roadside picnics with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Terry Mason, Donna Mason, and George Olsen; two grandchildren, Jeremy Wonch and Charles Mason; and three siblings, Wesley Butch Blum, Beverly Palmer, and Garry Blum. Surviving are her husband, George R. Mason of Greenville; her children, Wanda & Glenn Adams, Richard George Olsen, all of Greenville, Julie & Doug Martin of Coopersville, Ed & Shelly Petersen of Stanton, and Diana Mason of Greenville; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Devlon of Florida; a brother, Randy Williams of Detroit; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Joel Heron, lead pastor of Greenville Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at West Montcalm Cemetery.
