Diana Kay Lafferty

Diana Kay Lafferty “Diane” “Maudie”, age 70, went home to her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2025. She passed away at home in the arms of her husband of 52 years. Diane was born on June 15, 1955, in Des Moines, IA, to Tommy and Shirley Mastin. She was a member of NBFC Church Reed City, MI.

Diane and her husband owned a restaurant in Laona, WI; when the first child was born, she decided to stay home with the children. During these ten years she also volunteered and did fundraising for school functions, wrestling, football, baseball, and dance in Rhinelander, WI, home of the Hodag. When her daughter turned 10, Diane decided to venture into the workplace as a sales associate at JC Penny for nearly 20 years. During her employment she never missed a day of work and received numerous awards for customer service and attendance. Diane was with UniExpress Systems in Sun City, AZ, for 15 years where she retired as a lead dispatcher and manager.

She is survived by her husband, Don Lafferty; her mother, Shirley Baltic of Big Rapids, MI; sons, Stacey (Angele) Lafferty, of Jacksonville, NC, and Lanny (Bree) Lafferty of Goodyear, AZ; daughter, Michelle Bouwens Lafferty of Kent City, MI; 8 grandchildren, Chase (Kali) Brown, Chelsea (Desi) Richardson, Matt (Alecia) Lafferty, Owen Bouwens, Luke Bouwens, Megan (Spencer) Hudson, Paige (Gavin) Dupuy, and Emma Lafferty; and 6 great-grandchildren, Aria, Kensie, Hunter, Lucas, Giovanni, and William.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 30, 2025, at 10:00a.m. at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church, (NBFC) 139 W Church Street Reed City, MI 49677.
