Deborah Phenix

April 28, 1948 — October 27, 2020

Deborah Kay Phenix, age 72, of Greenville, passed away at home. The daughter of John L. & Evelyn (Edgecombe) Dann, she was born on April 28, 1948 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. For nearly 40 years Deb worked at the former Electrolux Home Products, retiring when the plant closed in 2006 as an inspector in quality assurance. On November 23, 1979, in Greenville, she married Donald Gene Phenix and together they enjoyed over 36 years of marriage and made their home overlooking Turk Lake where Deb enjoyed gardening... especially her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Phenix on March 1, 2016; her father, John Dann; her mother, Evelyn Garvey; two sons-in-law, Bruce Steffes, and Todd Blumberg; a grandson, Zachariah "Zach" Steffes; a sister, Rebecca Johnson; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Phenix and and Ken Phenix. Surviving are her children, Michelle Blumberg of Gowen, Raquel & Robert Mullen of Trufant, John & Barbara Christensen of Wayland, Joseph Donald & Edna Phenix of Kentwood, and Scott & Kinsey Christensen of Greenville; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Fredrick Dann of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held at a later time. Instead of flowers, Deb would have appreciated contributions in her memory to The Humane Society of Michigan, or any "No-Kill" Shelter.
