Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday Funeral: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday Deborah Darlene "Deb" Lyons, age 53, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, after a brief illness. The daughter of Charles & Darlene (Holderman) Clark, she was born on April 9, 1956 in Greenville. On June 25, 1982, in Greenville, she married Lawrence E. Larry Lyons, Jr. Deb retired from the former Gibson Refrigerator Company in Greenville, where she was a member of UAW Local 137. She will be remembered as a great conversationalist and an avid gardener, who also enjoyed handicrafts and making jewelry. She delighted in spending time with her nieces and nephews and looked forward to the coming births of her first two grandchildren (due in October and November). She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Clark; and her mother, Darlene Sherd. Surviving are her husband, Larry Lyons of Greenville; three sons, Jason Lyons & Calice DeGlopper, Nathan Lyons & Sarah Farr, and Derrick Lyons, all of Greenville; a sister, Denise & Pat Dilley; two brothers, Ed Clark and Ken & Shanna Clark, all of Greenville; her step-father, Sam Sherd of Greenville; three step-sisters, Cindy & Jerry Christensen of Stanton, Julie & Bill Harding of Greenville, and Jodie Palthorpe of Greenville; a step-brother, Mark & Kendra Sherd of Fenwick; siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Lyons of White Cloud, Thomas & Sally Lyons of Stanton, Diane & Mike Kauffman of Sheridan, Joy & Ed Gross of Wapakoneta, Ohio, John & Louise Lyons of Belding, Brenda Shaw of Grand Rapids, and Joella & Larry Earl of Belding; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services are at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. The Rev. Ken Harger, pastor of the Shiloh Community Church, will officiate. Visitation is Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be available.
