Dean Leroy Zue, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. He was born November 8, 1940, in Grant Township, to the late Carl and Marie (Skellet) Zue.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pamela (McVicker), his five daughters, Julie (Andy) Mejia, Jillann (Greg) Darnell, Jami Magwood, Jami Yoder, and Lori (Jon) Conroy, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grand children. He is also survived by his three siblings, Judy Wiseman, Dianne (Gary) Youker, and Chet (Mel) Zue.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob Zue and Larry (Pam) Zue.
After 26.5 years working for the Lansing Board of Water and Light, Dean retired as a lineman supervisor and wasted no time in pursuing his greatest passions: golfing, fishing, hunting, building his very own log cabin in the Upper Peninsula, and traveling south to his house in Florida. You could also find Dean sitting in his garage with a beverage of choice in hand, at "choir" practice on Tuesday evenings or sitting in his favorite "blue chair" mastering his Sudoku puzzles. Wherever he was though, he always had a moment to listen, nod and offer his wisdom.
Gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Road in Lansing, MI, with a memorial service celebration at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Travis Myers officiating.
