Mr. Dean Eugene Kiste, age 59, of Stanton, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.
The son of Lloyd L. & Lucile Ann (Mitchell) Kiste, he was born on November 1, 1951 in Greenville. Following his graduation from Greenville High School, Dean served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
For many years, he worked as a theater manager at drive-ins and multiplexes in Michigan and Florida. He was a member of Crystal Lake Community Church and American Legion Post No. 452 in Stanton, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jill Thompson.
Surviving are his long-time best friend and companion, Sharon Wellman of Stanton; children, Jennifer Cressman of Lansing, Stefanie & Dave Gillson of Six Lakes, Jason Kiste and Amanda Douglas of Elsie; stepchildren, Michelle Snyder and Bill Jeffers of Stanton, Bob Snyder of Coldwater; a sister, Judy & Robert Beckwith of Lansing; a brother, Lloyd & Irene Kiste of Sidney; sixteen grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Friday from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The Rev. Stephen Mowat, pastor of Crystal Lake Community Church, will officiate and burial will take place privately at West Montcalm Cemetery.
Envelopes for memorial contributions for the wishes of the family will be available at the funeral home.
