Dawn Bush

Dawn (House) Bush, age 97, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She was born July 18, 1925, in Stambaugh, MI, to the late L.C. and Daphne (VanRiper) House. Dawn graduated from Macon High School before she attended Michigan State University where she obtained a bachelor's degree. She married Alfred (Sam) Bush on August 2, 1947, in St. Louis, MI where they lived until they moved to Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids in 2006. Together they had four children and celebrated 72 years of marriage before he passed away on November 14, 2019. Survivors include her son, Jeff (Kathy) Bush; daughter, Betsy (Craig) Grace; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Carlson. Dawn was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brother, Lynn House; her daughter, Nancy (Dave) Dougherty; and her son, Randy (Valerie) Bush. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Clark Retirement Community and Emmanuel Hospice for the care and compassion they gave throughout this difficult time.
