David Victor "Curly" Wright, age 53, of Pierson, formerly of Wayland, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at his home.
Born in Grand Rapids on December 12, 1961, he married Caren L. Cook on September 16, 2000 and he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson either alongside his wife and with family and friends, as well as bow and rifle hunting, whitewater rafting, camping, and quiet walks through the woods. He attended Resonate Church in Newaygo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Rae (Bistodeau) Zylstra; and by a brother, Robert Henry Zylstra.
Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Caren Wright of Pierson; a daughter, Jenifer Wright of Cadillac; a son, Jesse Wright of Pierson; step-daughters, Coriene "Cori" Casteel and Kaytlyn Casteel; step-sons, Sean (Kristina) Santoni, Jason Gaylord, Trenton Gaylord, and Kirtess Gaylord; a brother, Steven (Jill) Wright; a sister, Denise (David) Gerou; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 12-1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street, Grand Rapids (one block west of Eastern Avenue), where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery near Hopkins.
