David Luban

David Robert Luban, age 60, of West Olive, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 7, 2022, from complications related to cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. The son of Robert and Nancy (Ziegler) Luban, he was born on May 15, 1962, in Calumet City, Illinois. In his youth, Dave attended both Grandville and Jenison High Schools. He also attended Grand Rapids Community College, and earned a welding certification. Dave went on to enjoy a 35 year career in welding. The past few years Dave had the pleasure of helping high school students learn to weld at the Careerline Tech Center in Holland. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. If Dave wasn't with his family or working, you could find him in his tree stand. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Bob, and father-in-law, Ray Shepard. Surviving are his wife, whom he adored, Gwen (Shepard) Luban; mother, Nancy; and mother-in-law, Judy Shepard. The Lord blessed him with three wonderful sons, Mitchell (Krista), Dustan, and Benjamin (fiance, Taylor Melton), and not to be forgotten, grand-dog, Rogue. Other special members of Dave's family include his brother, Steve (Marcia); sister, Lisa (Chris) Cronkright; brothers in-law, Russ, Ryan (Belinda), and Rob Shepard; loving aunt and uncles, Bill Luban and Bill (Dorothy) Ziegler; great-aunts, Margie Searl and Janet Washburn; and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews. Anyone wishing to visit with the family can do so on Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 4:00-7:00PM at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Dr, Allendale. There will be another visitation at the church from 5:00-6:00PM on Monday, August 15, 2022, with the Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:00 PM .
