David Eberhard

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, David Wayne Eberhard, passed away peacefully Friday, January 1, 2021 at home under the loving care of his family at the age of 91. The son of David Wilson & Helen May (Mock) Eberhard, he was born on April 7, 1929 in Sturgis, Michigan, he attended Lansing Community College and graduated with a degree in Civil Technology. On August 23, 1952 he married Katherine Elizabeth Daniels and together they raised three children and enjoyed 68 years of marriage. David retired from the State of Michigan where he worked as a Engineering Draftsman with the Highway Department. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on September 15, 1951 and attended the East Greenville Congregation. One of his greatest joys was watching his family grow and come to love and serve Jehovah as well. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on boats and being near the water whenever possible. He also loved gardening, raising chickens and tinkering in his garage on his never ending list of projects. David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Helen Eberhard; step-mother Martha Horowitz; brothers George Leland Eberhard and Harrison Eberhard; and sister Edna "Dolly" Rohrer. He will be missed by his wife Katherine Eberhard of Sheridan; children Kimber (Kimberly) Eberhard of Eaton Rapids, Michelle (Jason) Simmons of Sheridan, and Eliot (Marie) Eberhard of Charlotte; grand children Courtney (Matthew) Woodman, Hillary (Cameron) Hill, Jared Simmons, Katlyn (Wei) Li, and David Eberhard; great-grandchildren Aurora, Makaha, and Braelen Woodman; brother Ernest Eberhard; cousin and special friend Robert Fennell; and special nieces and nephews Dean, Randy, Annette, Teresa, Penny, Beth, and JD along with their families. A memorial service will be held on Zoom, on Sunday, January 24, 2021 by invitation only. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute are asked to consider donating to The Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses online at jw.org.
