David Cope

David Alan Cope, 52, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek while in rehabilitation following a stroke three weeks prior. He was born July 8, 1958, to mother Joanne Barber and father Paul Ernest Cope in Sheridan. Both preceded him in death. He is survived by daughter, Nicole Cope; and brother and sisters, Steve Cope, Diane Hopkins and Donna Haney. Dave spent the last year of his life in Chamberlain, S.D., and was fortunate enough to have been visiting in Michigan when he suffered the stroke. He loved to make people laugh, and especially loved hunting and ice fishing with his daughter. A memorial will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Green Corners Baptist Church, corner of Highway M-44 and Johnson Road, Orleans.
