David Allen

David B. Allen, age 58, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, Jan. 28, 2009 after suffering an apparent heart attack at home. Born on April 11, 1950 in Greenville, Dave was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 in Greenville, and enjoyed working on cars, driving the Magic Bus for his Turk Lake friends, and watching NASCAR. On July 28, 1972, in Greenville, he married Christine A. Ward. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Christine Allen on Dec. 3, 1974; his mother, Irene Allen-Austin; his mother-in-law, Maxine Ward; and a step-mother, Nancy Austin. Surviving are his wife, Chris Allen of Greenville; their children, Chad & Eiddie Allen and Mandy & Shawn Ingersoll; three grandchildren, Macy Ingersoll, Ashton Ingersoll, and Nicholle Christensen, all of Gowen; his step-father, Floyd Austin of Greenville; a sister, Julie & Bruce Liscombe of Crystal; a brother, Bob & Teri Austin of Orleans; an uncle, Dr. Donald & Arlene Allen of Columbia, South Carolina; parents-in-law, Gordon & Elaine Ward, Sr. of Rockford; siblings-in-law, Linda & Pete Petersen of Gowen, Gordon Ward, Jr. of Greenville, Jackie & Don Korson of Gowen, and Bill & Sandy Ward of Jenison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
