Darlene Lovett

November 9, 1941 — December 7, 2013

Darlene Faith Lovett, age 72, of Wyoming, went to be with her Savior on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The daughter of George & Violet Bates, she was born on November 9, 1941 in Grand Rapids. Darlene spent her childhood on the northwest side of Grand Rapids and attended Union High School, where she was a majorette in the school band. She held several jobs in her lifetime and retired from Steelcase after 27 years. She spent the last 20 years living in the Wyoming area. A strong, compassionate and loving woman, she always put others needs before her own and always grateful for any help she received. She was preceded in death by her parents; longtime companion, James Biezska; sister, Georgia Bell Lawton; two brothers, Ronald Bates and Danny Bates; children, Cheryl Hause and Ronald W. Hause. Surviving are her four children, Wanda (Dennis Bellows) Knight of Kentwood, Brenda (Jeff) Jacobsen of Grand Rapids, Randy (Amity) Biezska of Wyoming, and Jeffery (Shannon) Biezska of Hudsonville; sisters, Joyce Hilton-Oliver of Travelers Rest, S.C., and Nancy Kehoe of Greenville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her two best friends, Leo & Aruiela DeVries and and Jan Miller. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. on Monday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2670 56th Street S.W., Wyoming, where funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Joseph Openshaw will officiate and burial will take place privately at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Brenda Jacobsen to help with funeral expenses.
