Daniel Whitman

Daniel Carl Whitman, age 70, of Paradise, MI, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Whitman, mother Barbara Langley, and a sister Pam (Whitman) Simon. He was born on July 29, 1942 in Battle Creek, MI. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, and worked as a switchman for the Grand Trunk Railroad until joining the Army. Daniel was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar racing, cooking on an open fire, and picking blueberries. He is survived by his children; Kim (Whitman) Romack and Sherran Whitman; sisters, Joyce Bradstreet, Sandy Barrus, and Sherran Gray; grandchildren, Michael, Andrea, Brittnee & Zachary, and three great grandchildren. Committal services will take place at 2:00 pm, Friday March 8, 2013 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, located at 15501 Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012.
