Daniel Lee Olger, age 64, of Diamondale, Michigan, passed away at home in his sleep on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025. The son of George & Delores (Wilburn) Olger, he was born on August 4, 1961, in Lansing, Michigan. On October 12, 1984, he married Lisa Marie Schimberg, and together they raised four children and had just celebrated their forty-first anniversary this past Sunday.

Dan worked at John Henry full-time for over 30 years, while working other jobs simultaneously. He also owned his own upholstery cleaning business and coached sports for his sons and the community. He enjoyed lifting weights and staying active. He was enthusiastic in areas of hunting, and all realms of football, golf, baseball, and basketball, whether watching, playing or coaching. A dedicated community member, Dan coached sports for Lansing Parks and Recreation for many years, as well as coaching his sons in their various sporting events. He loved spending time talking about sports with his grandson, Devin.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, George & Delores Olger; and three siblings, Glen Olger, Gloria Bailor, and Eric Olger. Surviving are his wife, Lisa Olger; their four children, LeAnne Olger, Jeffery Olger, Cameryn Olger, and Kiefer Olger; and his five grandchildren, Devin Olger, Gerald VanAlstine, Evelyn VanAlstine, Haylee VanAlstine, and Brayden Olger.

A celebration of Dan’s life will be held, and details will be announced later.
