Corlon Halsey

Corlon Krey Halsey, age 98, formerly of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo area, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis. The daughter of George Rosewood & Helena Altaheidi (Krey) Reinbold, she was born on December 19, 1917 in Kalamazoo. Corlon was a supervisor at the Kellogg Corporation before retiring to Montcalm County after her husband's death. Corlon enjoyed reading and writing and especially delighted in seeing and messaging her family on Facebook. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. B. Halsey; and a son, Merle Edward Halsey. Surviving are her son, Larry & Cheila Halsey of Edmore; her daughter in law, Annette Halsey of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren, Jared & Jennifer Halsey of Edmore, Alyx & Scott Wiltse of Edmore, Samantha & Joel Coon of Chugiak, Alaska, Melonye Halsey of Allegan, Lori Halsey of Allegan, Brenda & Steve Huntington of Portage, Charles & Regina Tassell of Deer Park, Ohio, and Carol (Tassell) & Jonathon Shaw of Paw Paw; sixteen great- grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at North Fulton Cemetery near Kalamazoo. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville.
