Claude Freeman "Buck" Ronan, age 90, loving husband and father passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016 after suffering a stroke. Born in Grand Rapids, he attended St. Thomas grade school and Catholic Central High School before entering the Army, where he served in England and France during World War II. After the war, while attending college, he met his wife Rosemary. He worked over forty years for Lear Siegler until his retirement. Buck was an avid reader, especially of U.S. history and enjoyed touring Civil War battlefields with family members. His other hobbies included gardening, listening to jazz and walking in the woods by the family cottage on Lake Michigan while bird watching. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Rosemary (Connor); five sons, Mark (Sandra), Matthew, Patrick (Linda), Paul (Debbie) and John (Clare); grandchildren, Karri, Kevin, Nicholas, Michael, Evelyn and Adrienne; and four great grandchildren. They all will forever miss his love, kindness, sense of humor and generosity. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place.
