On February 18, 2025 this world lost a wonderful mother, mother in law, grandmother, wife and friend, Christine (Chris) Turner. Chris spent her young years living in Grandville with her parents and siblings. Chris went to Grandville High School where her senior yearbook photo had the label beneath it that read “Somone Everyone Likes”.
Chris married right out of high school and almost immediately became pregnant with her first child, Chad. Eighteen months later she delivered her daughter, Jennifer. Chris was a stay-at- home wife and mother, and this was a job that she fully enjoyed and was excellent at. Chad remembers his childhood as one that couldn’t have been better. There were summers playing “Kick off the Shoe” from the swings and staying up late watching Johnny Carson and Hogans Heros. She was a mom who was always there for her kids. She taught them to be responsible and independent and was always beaming with pride when she talked about them.
Chris enjoyed making meals for her family and she was good at it. When you sat down at her dinner table you knew that the meal was going to be good, how could it not be it when she added tons of butter and salt?
Chris became a grandmother to Lauren, Nicholas and Matthew and shortly after was remarried to Bobby Turner. He became another grandfather to Lauren, Nick and Matt. Chris and Bob would take the 3 grandkids on outings to Play World, The Binder Park Zoo, and Craigs Cruisers.
She was a grandma who just wanted to have fun with the kids. She even taught the grandkids the “Kick off the Shoe” game at the park!
Chris was predeceased by her parents, one sister, and her daughter Jennifer Hendrick, whom I am sure she was reunited with in Heaven!
She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Turner; son, Chad (Tina) Hendrick; grandchildren, Lauren, Nicholas, Matthew and their significant others. She was blessed with a bonus family after marrying Bob. She is also survived by stepsons Bob Jr, Jeff, and Kevin Turner and their families.
Per Chris’ wishes she has been cremated and there will be a celebration of life in the spring where we can all laugh and talk about the fun stories and silly memories that we have! The celebration will be announced on Facebook once a date and location has been secured.
