Christina B. Gill, age 59, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 with her family by her side at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The daughter of Elmer & Dolores (Cooper) Butler, she was born on April 18, 1965 in Rockford, Illinois. On Saturday, October 26, 1996 she married Keith R. Gill in Mt. Morris, Illinois. Christina dedicated herself to her children, family, and friends. Chris had a beautiful soul, universally liked, and always ready with a smile. Her dream was to be a stay at home mom and to raise her children, which she did with so much grace and love. She became a volunteer treasurer for numerous school functions involving her children as they progressed through school. She enjoyed reading, crafts, drawing, sewing, and recently took up watercolor painting which she then sold online and at local craft fairs. Chris loved cooking, wine tasting, and her world famous cocktails are legendary. She loved exploring the rugged beauty of Michigan and hunting Petoskey stones with her husband. Recently Chris fulfilled one of her long time dreams when she took stand-up comedy classes and worked up several routines which an untold number of people enjoyed at local clubs. She was a natural. Chris graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and worked in the field for a short time before moving into the financial leasing and accounting fields. Chris recently started a new job as an accountant with the Kent ISD school district and was very happy there. She was preceded in death by her Father, Elmer Butler of Mt. Morris, IL. Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Keith R. Gill; their two children, Valerie J. Gill of Marquette, MI, and William J. Gill of Grand Rapids, MI; her mother, Dolores Butler; her mother-in-law, Helen Gill; her three brothers, Kimball Butler of Pontiac, IL, Nick Butler & Debra Sprague of Columbia, MO, and Kurt & Krista Butler of Rockford, IL; her brother-in-law, Mark S. & Colleen Buddy of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Ada Bible Church located at 8899 Cascade Rd SE, Ada, MI 4930, a visitation with Chris's family will start at 10:00 am, followed with a 11:00 am service, and lunch will be provided at 12:00 noon. During the service guests are free to offer comments or memories and to share Chris's wonderful impact on all of us.
