Christel Joy Blaisdell, age 55, of Greenville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 from Metron of Greenville. The daughter of Gordon James Fountain and Frances B. Braden, Christel came into this world on June 11, 1951 in Lakeview. Born with cerebral palsy and raised by her grandparents, Jesse & Bertha Fountain, Christel never let her disabilities stand in her way. On Oct. 12, 1985, in Belding, she married Robert K. Bob Blaisdell. As an ordained minister, she and Bob served the Lord in special ministries at Friendship House and Metron of Greenville. Christel was a member of the Red Hat Society at Metron of Greenville, where she also enjoyed Bible study, playing bingo, and other activities, and most recently attended Living Faith Family Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and caregiver, Bob Blaisdell on July 8, 2005; her parents; her paternal grandparents, Jesse & Bertha Fountain; her maternal grandparents, Clinton & Eva Braden; and two brothers, David Westenfelder, and Bracy Jim Fountain.
Surviving are three sisters, Laura Davenport of Georgia, Patty & Chris Tinnerman of Virginia, and Terry OConnor of California; two brothers, James Jim Templin of New York, and Gary OConnor of California; a special uncle and aunt, Claude & Ellen Braden of Lincoln Lake; special friends, Diane & Howard Henrickson of Greenville; two step-children and their families, Robert Jr. & Jessica Blaisdell, and Ann Marie Jackson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
