March 11, 1950 — April 5, 2017

Chester "Chet" Earl Walker, Jr., age 67, of Evart, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, after a short illness. Chet was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Rose Walker; paternal and maternal grand parents; aunts and uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews. Chet is survived by his wife, Susan (Anderson) Walker; daughters, Maggie (James) Binder, and Kimberly (James) Wing; grandchildren, Brock and Brody Binder, Teijin and Meili Wing; as well as his sister-by-heart, Mary Lentz, and her husband Bob Lentz, along with many loving friends and family. Chet was a business owner, lifetime mechanic, car salesman and for much of his life, he enjoyed playing drums in various country-rock music bands in his spare time. Chet spent six years in the Naval Reserves, doing two years active duty on the USS Guadalcanal as a radioman during the Vietnam War era, spending his tours in the Mediterranean with his home base in Norfolk, VA. A celebration of Chet's life is being planned for a later time. Honoring his wishes cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
