Cheryn Dawn Trevino

Cheryn Trevino, age 79, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1946, and lived a life centered around love, family, and creativity. 

Cheryn was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Richard Verkerke, and her son-in-law, John Shipley. 

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Oscar Trevino; Cheryl & Dave Shook (Daughter and son-in-law), Sandy & Ralph Orcasitas (daughter & son-in-law), Terry & Kat Wimpee (son & daughter-in-law), Brandy Shipley (daughter); her sister and brother-in-law Toni and Michael Mondrella; and her sister and brother-in-law Dee and Dan VanWoerkmon. Cheryn was a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 9 great-grandchildren. 

Cheryn’s greatest joy in life was her family. She devoted countless hours to caring for her grandchildren and later her great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with warmth and love. She also had a deep passion for crafting, especially painting, and spent many peaceful hours expressing her creativity through her art. 

She will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, her artistic heart, and the deep love she shared with those around her. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she adored.
