On Tuesday June 29th, 2020, the day before her 64th birthday, Cheryl Kegeler passed away in her home after a long battle with cancer. Cheryl was the daughter of Ivan Walcott & Betty Lou (Mayerhoefer) Walcott. Cheryl was born July 1st, 1956 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was one of seven crazy Walcott children, Diane (Greg) Hyde, Steven (Sharon) Walcott, Dan Walcott, Carolyn Ebels, Jolie Walcott, Marian Walcott. She grew up in the Wyoming area and graduated from Roger's high school in 1974. Cheryl retired from Lacks Enterprise in 2017 when her battle with cancer began. She was one of seven crazy Walcott children, Diane (Greg) Hyde, Steven (Sharon) Walcott, Dan Walcott, Carolyn Ebels, Jolie Walcott, Marian Walcott. She grew up in the Wyoming area and graduated from Roger's high school in 1974. Cheryl retired from Lacks Enterprise in 2017 when her battle with cancer began. Cheryl had three children, Eric, Nicole, and Vanessa. She raised her children with tough love and a lot of humor. She will be deeply missed by her children as well as her nine grandchildren, Sadie, Lydia, Naomi, Beanie, Nacho man, Nolan, Berta, Noah, and Andy, As well as her two great grandchildren Kamden and Paisley. Cheryl was preceded in death by her dad, Ivan Walcott; mom, Betty Walcott; sister, Marian; and life partner, Louie Ypma. She will be missed dearly by everyone she left behind including many nieces and nephews who were like her extended children. As well as many of her aunts, uncles and cousins. Cheryl will be remembered for her love of four letter words and her "call it as she sees it" attitude. You always knew when she entered a room. Her family would like to extend an open invitation to anyone that knew and loved Cheryl to join them for a "see ya later" celebration of her life. This will be at Fricano's in Caledonia, 107 E. Main St, Caledonia, MI 49316 on July 19th at 2 pm. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, (616) 452-3006, honored providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
