Ms. Cherie Lee DeSpelder, age 51, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening, July 3, 2007 at her home. The daughter of Arlene Zelma (Shambaugh) and Andrew Jackson Jack Frederick II, she was born on Nov. 19, 1955 in Alma. Cherie was raised as a member of the Turk Lake United Methodist Church, was a graduate of Greenville High School, and was employed for 28 years at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101, the United Auto Workers Local 137, and enjoyed camping, gambling, and spending time with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are two daughters, Nikki DeSpelder of Grand Rapids, and Courtney DeSpelder of Greenville; her best friend and companion, Kevin Ledin of Greenville; Kevins daughter, Carin Ledin of Sheridan; Kevins parents, Pat & Jake Emmons of Fenwick; a brother, Andrew Jackson Jack Frederick III of Chicago, Illinois; her daughters father, Stacey DeSpelder of Greenville; three aunts and an uncle, Shirley & Gay Hansen of Greenville, Lois Dingman of Sheridan, and Jane Christensen of Ludington; and many cousins, special friends and former co-workers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the Turk Lake United Methodist Church, north of Greenville at 8900 W. Colby Road, with Pastor Kay Welsch officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church.
