Charles D. White, born November 2, 1956, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, was a man who wore many hats but was best known for his roles as a dedicated heavy equipment operator in the concrete business, a loyal family man, and a charismatic friend with an infectious sense of humor. For 55 years of his life, Charles was the epitome of dedication and hard work. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by the love he had for his family and his hometown of Grand Rapids, where he lived until his passing on March 11, 2025.
Charles was a man who knew how to find joy in the simple things in life. His love for sport events was well known among his friends and family. His knack for making people laugh was as legendary as his dedication to his work. Whether it was a witty comment, a hilarious story, or a simple joke, Charles had the unique ability to fill a room with laughter. His daily ritual of playing lotto numbers brought him much joy and anticipation. As Mark Twain once said, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." Charles wielded this weapon with grace and ease, brightening up the lives of those around him.
Survived by his daughter, Nicole White; his domestic partner, Teresa Brown; and his siblings Kimberly Little, Jeff White, Robert White, and Earl White, Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Virginia White. Charles was a man who touched the lives of many with his unwavering loyalty, and his memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 pm until 3:00pm on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at InSpirit Church, 870 74th Street SW, Byron Center.
