Charles Phenix

Charles G. Phenix, age 93, of Lake Stanton, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at his home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. The son of James A. & Bertha E. (Harper) Phenix, he was born on August 14, 1928 in Belding. A veteran of the Korean War, Charles proudly served with the United States Army and was awarded the Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. Following his honorable discharge, he married Evelyn Mildred Guldner on July 16, 1955 in Greenville and together they raised three children and enjoyed over 52 years of marriage until Evelyn passed away on December 14, 2007. Charles retired from Reynolds Metal and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially camping trips together, and he loved fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; a son, Robert Hodge on December 10, 2005; a grandson, Andrew James Tice on February 14, 2006; his wife, Evelyn; and five brothers, Bruce D. Phenix, Edward L. Phenix, Leo J. Phenix, John Phenix, and Wayne Phenix. Surviving are his daughters, Denise & James Rowland of Greenville, and Michelle & Jason Dick of Trenton, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Janette Hodge of Stanton; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Guldner of Greenville, and Leona Evans of Stanton; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Military honors, rendered jointly by the U.S. Army and the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101, will conclude the visitation at 12:00 Noon and a time of food and fellowship will follow at the Greenville American Legion. Burial will take place privately at River Ridge Cemetery in Belding at a later date. from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 511 S.
