Mr. Charles Collins, Sr., age 89, of Six Lakes, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Laurels of Carson City. The son of Lewis & Rosa Collins, he was born on April 27, 1919 in Kentucky. On July 14, 1958 he married the former Rita Whitney. A member of the Howard City Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses, Charles enjoyed Bible study, volunteer ministry service, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita Collins; a daughter, Randy Whitney; two brothers, Evert Collins and Leonard Collins; and two infant sisters.
Surviving are his children, Chuck Collins, Phillip Collins, both of Six Lakes, Robin Whitney of Greenville, Rosanna Stilson of Lakeview, and Richard Whitney of Morley; three brothers, Henry Collins, Luke Collins, and Lewis Collins; a sister Ruth Shears; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial services are at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 16189 Howard City-Edmore Road (Highway M-46), Howard City.
