Charlene Hansen

Charlene Joy Hansen, age 74, formerly of Sheridan and Ionia, went home to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, March 25, 2013 from the Laurels of Kent in Lowell. The daughter of George Victor & Luellla May (Petersen) Packard, she was born on September 18, 1938 in Belding. On July 25, 1959 she married Edwin F. Hansen and together they enjoyed almost 37 years of marriage and had four children. Charlene was a member of the Vickeryville United Methodist Church and only her love of God came before her family. She will be remembered for her love of all children (especially babies), was a daycare provider in her own home for many years, and had volunteered as a Girl Scout Brownie Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Keith Packard and Ronald Packard; a daughter, Pamela Hansen in 1967; and her husband, Edwin F. Hansen on July 16, 1996. Surviving are her children, Kathy & Doyle Miller, Jr. of Petoskey, Karen & Donald Mays of Belding, and Mike Hansen of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Doyle Miller III & Katie Bonnie of Traverse City, Chrissy & Wayne Durga of Lake Ann, and Laura Schultz & Cassandra Kingsley of Belding; four great grandchildren, Jet Miller and Avie Miller, both of Traverse City, and Owen Durga & Dominic Durga of Lake Ann; a brother, Roger & Crystal Packard of Belding; a brother-in-law, Robert & Ruth Hansen of Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Clark of Lyons, and Lorraine Packard of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.
