Chad Ronald-Flashaar Saladin, age 27, of Greenville, died early Wednesday morning, December 19, 2012 from injuries received in an automobile accident in Ionia County. The son of Keith & Brenda (Flashaar) Saladin, he was born on October 6, 1985 in East Grand Rapids.
A member of the First Congregational Church, Chad was active in Boy Scout Troop 130 and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Greenville High School in 2004 where he played football, wrestled, and pole vaulted for the Yellow Jackets. He then attended Ferris State University, where he was a member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, and earned degrees in nuclear medicine and health systems management.
An avid outdoorsman, Chad enjoyed hunting and fishing and lived life to the fullest. He also enjoyed league bowling and worked at Spectrum Health-United Hospital as an emergency room technician.
Surviving are his parents, Keith & Brenda Saladin of Greenville; his sister, Cami Saladin of Grand Blanc; his grandparents, Ron & Pat Flashaar of Greenville, Shirley & Harvey Pell of Beverly Hills, Florida, and Liquori Saladin of Tampa, Florida; aunts and uncles, Diane & Bob TenEyck of Greenville, Ken Saladin of Belding, Dawn Saladin of Greenville, Colleen Saladin of California, John & Donna Fuller of Arkansas, Jo Riley of Florida, Kim Dennis of Georgia, Scott & Cheryl Flashaar, and Angela & Bryan Garvey, all of Greenville; several great aunts and great uncles; and many, many cousins and friends.
Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the First Congregational Church, 126 E. Cass Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating.
