Carolyn F. Goeckler, age 88, of Carson City, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at The Laurels of Carson City. The daughter of Arthur V. & Frances (Merrow) Goeckler, she was born on July 19, 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut.
Carolyn was a graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, where she had been a member of Phi Theta Kappa. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Carolyn began a long career with Martin-Marietta after her discharge as a computer systems analyst.
In retirement, she made her home in Carson City where she attended the Congregational Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She also volunteered her time with the American Red Cross.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth; and an infant brother. Survivors include a niece, Debra Blaker of Florida; and her best friend of 49 years, Barbara Combs of Carson City.
Honoring her wishes, no services will be held and entombment will take place in the mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Orlando, Florida. Instead of flowers, Carolyn would have appreciated contributions in her memory to the Michigan Masonic Home (checks payable to Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation, 1200 Wright Avenue, Alma, MI 48801).
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Greenville, (616) 754-5638, exclusive providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
