Carolyn Ek-Schneider

Carolyn (Carrie) Francis Ek-Schneider, 62, of Pierson MI passed away Sunday February 7, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Carolyn was born July 3, 1958 in Grand Rapids MI to Marlene Ek (Blakeslee) and the late Charles Ek. She loved country living, gardening, riding horses and caring for her many rescue dogs and cats. She was passionate about nature and recycling to save the earth. Her greatest love was her grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life. Carolyn spent most of her career driving bus for school districts, charter companies and public transit. She most recently worked for Montcalm ISD. She also worked for The Rapid where she left behind many friends. But she especially loved escorting the residents of Villa Maria around town, and they loved her too! She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Joseph Schneider, her children Sarah Rose Schneider, Adam Schneider(Heather), and grandchildren Adrian Anthony and Emma Rose. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Marlene (Blakeslee)Ek, siblings, Cathie (Artie) Guerrero of Denver CO, Chuck Ek, Ed Ek, Dan (Sue) Ek all of Grand Rapids, and Paul (Jennifer)Ek of Orlando FL and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life has been postponed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and will be announced at a later date.
