Carol Marie Scherch, age 82, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Harold & Grace Upjohn Community Care Center in Kalamazoo. The daughter of Leo & Bertha (Hauptman) Strassell, she was born on January 10, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Surviving are her children, Tom Scherch, Steve Scherch, Sam Scherch, John Scherch, Meg Peterson, Jo Weeks, and Heidi Fidler. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place and final interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio. Arrangements were entrusted to the Michigan Cremation Company, Grand Rapids.
