Carol Lynn (Batenburg) Johnson, age 74, of Howard City, Michigan, was called home on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 12, 1951, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Anthony and Leatha (Parish) Batenburg.
Carol was a beloved wife, mother, and family member. She was a lover of all animals and had a great appreciation for those in nature. Carol ran a dog rescue, Voice of Animals, for many years, serving as an advocate for all in need. Starla, Carol’s pride and joy, was a rescue who over the years became part of the family and spent everyday side by side with her companion. Carol cherished spending time with her family, hosting cookouts, pizza parties, and tea parties with daughters and granddaughters on many occasions. She will be greatly missed by all those lives she has impacted throughout the years.
She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” and many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, and her daughter, Yvonne.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, at Michigan Cremation and Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue SE, with a funeral service at 11:00 am, with Pastor Dave Boillet officiating. Carol will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
