Carla Gordon

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Carla Rae Gordon. Carla was born on April 22, 1930 to Hannah and Robert Palmer in Plattsburgh, New York. She was the second of four during the depression and she was raised in a hardworking, creative, and lively household. Carla was gifted at oil painting, many of her portraits adorned the walls of the living room where she raised her family. She enjoyed taking care of her home, gardening, reading, playing piano, and watching classic movies. She loved all things celestial and was well versed in astrology. To support her young children, Carla went back to school and became a Certified Nursing Assistant. Providing vital support to nurses, she even continued to be a blessing to her patients in her retirement. She truly adored her work. In her later years, Carla cherished added time with her grandchildren. She also participated in a variety of senior center activities, attended community orchestra concerts, and maintained her green thumb as she nurtured her garden. She went to heaven on Sunday, May 5, 2024. She is survived by her children, Tom (Sue), Pat, and Katie (Sam); her grandchildren, Ben (Le), Alexis (Dan), Dan (Ava), Lindsay (Brian), and TaraMae (Ben); and her great-grandchildren, Juliet, Violet, and Gilbert. We promise to remember you, Mom, Grandma, Gigi, especially when looking at the stars and flowers. Private family services will be held.
