Carl Wise

Mr. Carl R. Wise, age 80, of Greenville, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2008 at Metron of Belding. The son of Arthur B. & Esther (McLain) Wise, he was born on Oct. 18, 1927 in Greenville. A 1947 graduate of Greenville High School, Carl worked for 41 years at the former Gibson Refrigerator Company, first at the Belding air conditioning plant, and later at the Greenville facility. On Aug. 14, 1952, he married Roberta Sinclair, and together they raised two sons. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Greenville and enjoyed bicycling. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert Wise and William Wise. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Roberta Wise of Greenville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug & Sandy Wise of Greenville, and Arthur & Sally Wise of Gowen; two grandsons, Carl A. Wise of Gowen, and Eric & Carrianne Vaughn of Grand Rapids; a great granddaughter, Annabell Vaughn; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Phillip & Muriel Wise of Greenville, Esther Wise of Greenville, and Donna & Morton Chism of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with the Rev. Paul Dickson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation is Wednesday from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to the Alzheimers Association or First Baptist Church will be available.
