Carl A. Briggs went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 24, 2026 at age 86.
Carl was born to Earl and Leah Briggs (Teed) on May 13, 1940 in Vestaburg, Michigan. Carl honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1965 and loved his fellow veterans throughout his life. Carl worked most of his adult years as a Job Setter for GM and Penske and thought of his coworkers as family. He loved all those he met and was equally loved by those who knew him. Carl never missed an opportunity to make those around him laugh and his smile and laughter will be deeply missed. He made many memories over the years fishing at a remote cabin on Dog Lake in Canada, camping with his wife, and cruising the open road on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
Carl joins his parents and several siblings in heaven. He is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Mary, and their children Brenda Briggs, Wendy Curry (Louis), Jason Briggs (Kelly), Mandy Gaffner (Matthew), Theresa Bagley, Ken Leach (Deanna), Mark Prange (Valarie), and Tena Prange, as well as many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also remembered with love by his sister in-law, Louise Briggs, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Grand Rapids International Fellowship on October 30, 2026 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Faith Hospice of Michigan ( https://www.hom.org/donate/) are appreciated.
