Caleb Scheidel

Caleb Dunbar Scheidel, age 30, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 28, 2019, after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was born December 27, 1988, in Grand Rapids, to Phillip Scheidel and Melanie Dunbar. On June 17, 2017, Caleb married Amy Morgan in Wayland. Caleb had a passion for the outdoors, he loved camping and tubing and was a diehard Detroit Lions Fan. He was proud to be able to fulfill his dream of owning and operating Scheidel Lawn Care. Caleb was always considerate of others and retained his great sense of humor throughout his illness. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Amy; sons, Dante age 17 and Christian age 7; mother, Melanie (Doug Fox) Dunbar-Fox; siblings, Leonora Dunbar and Eric Scheidel; grandparents, Lee (Garry Mattox) Sanders and Jude Dunbar; parents-in-law, Mabel and Ralph Alexander; best friend, Mitchell Roe; and many other loving relatives and friends. Caleb was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Scheidel. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs of Cancer and Hematology of West Michigan, Spectrum Health, and Spectrum Health Hospice.
